Club Officer Roles

Volunteer leaders are vital to the success of LESAR

NOTE: All volunteers need a minimum Basic First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

The President and Vice President primary responsibilities:
  • Ensure LESAR meets obligations to attend and support all D38 races held in Imperial Valley.
    • Staffing at Race (3 EMTs minimum and 3-4 additional volunteers)
    • Fuel
    • Food
    • Medical supplies
    • Command Post Logistics
    • Race Course GPS Maps received from hosting club
    • Patient Contact documented
    • Medical race report provided to hosting club
    • PCRs sent to IV EMS Director
    • AED kept safe and brought to each event
  • Ensure LESAR assets (trailer, radios, generator and UTVs) are maintained by volunteers
  • Ensure at least (2) LESAR representatives attend the D38 General Business Meetings ($15 dinner allowance each)
  • Manage (2) LESAR General business meetings a year
  • Ensure the offering of Basic First Aid/AED training for LESAR volunteers every two-years (eligible EMT volunteers also need recertification and BLS certs)
  • Living in San Diego and having access to a super duty truck is preferred Living in San Diego and having access to a super duty truck would be preferred.
Secretary Duties:
  • Take meeting minutes
  • Monitor emails directed to LESAR and assign/distribute as needed
  • Maintain LEASAR volunteer list (contact and certs record) on spreadsheet (google drive)
  • Manage LESAR email contacts and distribution list
  • Maintain LESAR volunteer's meetings and deployments attendance spreadsheet (google drive)
  • Send deployment (race event) invitations and collect rsvps.
  • Manages each Race Event Checklist document
  • Check Post Office Box (Santee)
Treasurer:
  • General book keeping and financial record keeping
  • Balance checking account
  • Writes reimbursement checks
  • Submits both State and Fed yearly tax filings
  • Ensures non-profit standing of club remains intact.

Member at Large:
  • Active member who assists as called upon (when needed: transport command post, help with general repairs of LESAR assets...)
  • Assist at D38 race events (driver, radio, admin...)
  • ​Is the fifth core member of leadership team. Needed so that there are no tie votes.
